TABC Clarifies Sunday Sales Rules: What Changes for Texas Retailers

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) released updated guidance this week clarifying Sunday sales hours for off-premise retailers following March legislation amendments. The changes take effect April 15, 2026.

Under the revised rules, package stores and licensed retailers can now begin off-premise sales at 10 a.m. on Sundays, one hour earlier than the previous 11 a.m. start time. Sunday closing time remains 2 a.m. Monday morning. The change applies statewide to all licensed beer, wine, and spirit retailers.
