About your numbers
What raises the price
- Books that match tax returns and sales tax reports
- A long lease that can pass to the buyer
- Steady or growing sales over three years
- A store that runs without you every day
- Clean permit history
What lowers it
- Cash sales missing from the books
- Under five years left on the lease
- Old or dead stock
- Coolers near the end of their life
How we work out the range
Buyers and lenders price a liquor store on what it earns its owner. In 1,076 US liquor store sales reported to BizBuySell from 2021 to 2025, stores sold for 2.2 to 4.0 times the owner's yearly take-home, with 2.85 in the middle. Against sales, they sold for 0.29 to 0.61 times a year's sales.
If you give us your take-home, we use it. Sales alone gives a wider range. A lease under five years pulls the range down. Your real price depends on your books, lease, location and buyer, which is what the readiness audit pins down.
